“Singer Wyclef Jean plans to run for president of earthquake-ravaged Haiti and will announce his candidacy in the coming days, a former parliament leader and the entertainer’s brother said Tuesday.
Former Chamber of Deputies leader Pierre Eric Jean-Jacques told The Associated Press the Haiti-born hip hop artist and former Fugees frontman will run as part of his coalition in the Nov. 28 election.

In another link to this ’smokin’ chain of events, a friend known uncommonly as “Adi Aniren” posted this link to a story about how children are being used by cigarette manufacturers on her facebook wall.
“Tobacco giant Philip Morris has been forced to admit that child workers as young as 10 have been subjected to long hours working on tobacco farms with which it has contracts in the Central Asian state of Kazakhstan.”
The link was pegged as “one more reason to stop smoking“. One MORE reason to stop. I suppose for the people who have already stopped smoking, it’s the sort of thing you read and while you are reading it, you might be overcome with a sense of “i dun the right thing then”!. Sure, it feels rather nice….
But i don’t smoke….. anymore.

This week, as with all other weeks my blog posts have been inspired by the things that are going on around me. By the things that other people, including myself are either getting into, or out of. These blog posts are usually inspired by a chain of online and offline events that trigger thoughts and ideas that i’d rather not bore people with…. so i blog about them. And yes, the insulting assumption is that people who have the time to read my blog, have nothing better to do anyway, and my mundane details and musings are of some value however insignificant.

I likes this a lots. It’s one of the few hip-hop tracks claimed worthy of ear-time that does not have that supremely annoying chipmunk voice sampling effect in the background. That is the single most over used sound of the last five years. It takes SO MUCH away from a track for me… It’s OLD, and it sounds like cheap plastic filler.
Cincilluminati has a vocal bit that could so easily have been replaced with that stupid chipmunk effect and i am very very very glad that ILL POETIC opted for something more organic sounding.

ADIDAS TO ADDIS

NEW! CUTCHEMIST! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! speaks for itself really….. and you can really jump around in your adidas to this if you feel sole inclined. ”the dude is sick!” …. in my opinion DJ Shadow is slightly sicker but i love this new track. Can’t wait for the rest of the album to fall into my clutches. There were days in my life when all i listened to was Cutchemist, dj shadow, dj babu and jurassic5 and a few others…. the track is part of “The Sound of the Police”, an album that began as live performance and ended up being immortalised into a proper recording. Unreal anticipation. Check it out here….
